Alternate energy forms besides fossil fuel is described here. The purpose this site is to educate masses on alternative to fossil fuel. Alternate forms of energy considered here are energies that are non-traditional and have low environmental impact. Key factors in considering alternative energies are sustainability, renewability and low carbon footprint.
Sustainability is abundant source of energy. The source of energy is plentiful that there is not significant concern of sources running out. In sustainable alternate forms of energy their environmental and social impacts are generally more benign than those of fossil fuels.
Key ingredient in finding an alternate forms of energy its renewability. The energy source has to be naturally replenished. Renewable energy technologies range from solar power, wind power, hydroelectricity/micro hydro, biomass and biofuels for transportation. In 2006, about 18% of global final energy consumption came from renewable, which is very low and has excellent potential for growth that we would like to promote. Countries like Brazil has one of the largest renewable energy programs in the world, involving production of ethanol fuel from sugar cane, and ethanol now provides 18% of the country's automotive fuel. Kenya has the world's highest household solar ownership rate with roughly 30,000 small (20–100 watt) solar power systems sold per year. For the benefit of the entire planet we would like to see other countries adapt a comprehensive renewable energy programs.
We see with the emergence of China and India as global super powers with tremendous hunger of energy there going to be more and more of demand for energy especially fossil fuel. With the ever rising high demand and the peak oil effect, there come energy scacity. With energy scarcity comes high competion for fossil fuels and conflict for control of fossil fuels. In the future there are going to me more and more conflicts around the world for control of energy resources. For peaceful planet, we owes to your next generation to adopt more alternative forms of energy.
